Storyline

Dead Alive, also known as Braindead, is a cult horror-comedy directed by Peter Jackson. The story follows Lionel Cosgrove, whose overbearing mother is bitten by a rare Sumatran Rat-Monkey, transforming her into a flesh-eating zombie. As the infection spreads, Lionel struggles to hide an ever-growing horde of zombies while trying to protect the woman he loves. Famous for its outrageous practical effects, over-the-top gore, and dark humor, Dead Alive is widely regarded as one of the goriest zombie movies ever made.
